The WCC proactively works to improve the scientific knowledge basis
for chlorine chemistry. WCC focuses primarily on 1) coordinating
existing science and new research on chlorine and chlorinated compounds,
and 2) coordinating and harmonizing industry activities to fulfill
obligations for chlorine chemistry products under the High Production
Volume Testing Initiative.
- WCC HPV Chemical Initiative - The WCC maintains a database
for tracking the commitment made by companies, countries and
consortia that report on chlorinated High Production Volume
(HPV) chemicals. The overall goal of the WCC is to ensure a
basic set of hazard information for each chlorine chemical of
importance to our industry.

- Global Science Congress - The WCC sponsored two Global
Science Congresses for regulators, legislators, scientists,
academics, and industry representatives involved in environmental
health and safety aspects of chlorine chemistry.
